The wonderful Dolomites
Italy is known by many for the magnificent Rome, Firenze, Milan, Venice … however, there is a region less known yet very beautiful that gives several reasons to visit it: the Dolomites.
Since 2009, the Dolomites have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Where are the Dolomites located?
The Northeast of the country, in the eastern part of the Italian Alps, this mountain range has the mixture of all the most exciting possibilities in a destination.
Formidable lakes, trails, unique villages, delicious food and a lot of nature are present in every bit of this region.
Lago di Braies: the pearl of the Dolomites
The Italian Alps are full of pristine lakes and can be visited in all seasons.
Each season is a magic of colors and for those passionate about photography, the Dolomites are the perfect setting that nature has given us.
Refuges in the Dolomites: a unique experience.
Refuges are great for when you are hungry and want to make a stop or even if you want to stay longer on the high mountain and spend a few days there to explore the region.
People from all over the world fall in love with the Dolomites, a World Heritage Site, here nature exudes all its splendor.
Taste and tradition.
Speaking of food, the Dolomites always offer a particular panorama even when we take a break to eat.
There are many restaurants, refuges, hotels in the region, for all tastes and pockets.
Knowing the Dolomites also means knowing the typical food of the region, there you will find typical flavors: speck, canederli (or knödel), cheese and Schüttelbrot bread (“shaken bread” in German), Schlutzkrapfen (ravioli stuffed with spinach and ricotta), and typical Würstel.
You will also be able to taste excellent local wines and you will fall in love not only with the Dolomites, but also with the culinary of this region.
Relaxation and wellness in the Dolomites.
This isn’t only synonymous with beauty, good cuisine, but it is also synonymous with wellness … yes, because here you will find many spas for perfect relaxation during your holidays.
You will find wellness centers in the quiet mountains of South Tyrol with a fabulous landscape that makes you rest your body and mind.
The Dolomites: the most beautiful hiking destinations.
Nature, wellness, good food … these are some reasons why you should know the wonderful Dolomites …. and if you have the opportunity to add a photography course to your holidays in the Dolomites, then I would say that it is truly a dream vacation.
