BEST PHOTO EXPERIENCES
SOUTH TYROL 2017 – 2020

This 2020 was marked for the world of travel photography by the pandemic crisis of Covid-19.
The whole world has slowed down, but travel photography has probably almost completely stopped.
In such a special context, we decided to resume doing what we do best: inspiring travellers. The world of photographer-travellers is quite large, but they share common passions and interests.
As Master Photo Tour we decided to show that we are active members of a community.
For this reason, we decided to support the initiative that the inhabitants of the Dolomites have undertaken: #everythingwelove
Many travellers and photographers have already joined the initiative, sharing memories of their experiences in South Tyrol – old or recent.
We, as MasterPhotoTour.com, decided to support the initiative by editing the material of the last 4 years of projects and building 10 monographic stories about the photographers who have been part of Master Travel Photography.

Summer 2020

Loic took part in the 2017 Master of Travel Photography.
He was already chosen as France’s official photographer at Expo in Astana.
For him, it was a kind of fall in love with bright colors, so typical and consistent with Lagarde’s photography.
He succeeded finally in winning the best “action photography” awards.
This love with South Tyrol goes on and we love to host him also during the winter season.

Mattia was the Local Master at the Master Travel Photography 2017
Coming from Garda Lake, he has an extensive portfolio of water landscapes..
.. and South Tyrol alpine environment, of course!
During Master Photo Tour in July 2017, on the Fanes Dolomites, he focused on his favorite subjects: outdoor and action – mountain bike in particular.

Laura Masi (Ruberry) is a photographer from Florence, with a wide following for both travel and lifestyle.
Her point of view involved a lot of aspects related to the culture of the place as well as the landscape.
With special attention to people’s emotions and the facial expressions, they tell you about.
Her video interview explains why she became so very passionate about South Tyrol.

Alexandra Korey is a Canadian expert in the history of art. She lives in Florence and follows her passion for visiting Italy hidden gems.
She works in a digital agency and sometimes supports Tuscany restaurants and vineyards with her photography.
She already knew about the Dolomites and the cultural (and mythological) aspects of this region before the tour 2017.
But we had the opportunity to bring her to visit #UNESCO world heritage like the Fanes massive.
In the end, she was priced for the most representative food pic. Well done Alexandra!

Atef Talbi is a young French photographer, collaborator of Le Monde de la Photo, one of the most representative photography newspapers in Europe.
Atef has a career as an ICT professional, but in 2019 he started a path that took him to some of the most remote regions of the planet.
Before this journey we accompanied him to some of the most pristine places in South Tyrol.
His photos are representative of a sporty and meditative character at the same time.

Max Lazzi is an emerging Tuscan photographer based in Lucca.
Parallel to a career as a craftsman in other sectors and as a competitive motorcyclist, he has developed a very specific photographic technique.
After a very varied artistic career, he focused on images with a strong evocative character.
In particular, the artist is recognizable the Tuscan tree-lined avenues, completely revisited with respect to traditional stereotypes.
In 2019 he took part in Master Travel Photography and, against the odds, won first place, with a narrative that is very much in keeping with the values of freedom and uniqueness so characteristic of South Tyrol.
From this experience, he drew a register, which was also awarded in the United States.

Olga and Jan arrived in the Dolomites in autumn 2018, forming a well-matched pair of artists.
Olga Chagunava is a young cosmopolitan content creator based in London. With a background in large corporations, she decided to devote herself completely to travel photography and videomaking.
Her style is decidedly romantic, almost dreamlike at times. Deeply attentive to the setting, she is often the protagonist of her shots, in dreamy and evocative positions.
Jan Gawron is a German photographer who has had the opportunity to travel a lot. As typical of his fellow countrymen, he offers very dense images with the Alpine subject well present, often with the intense tones of thunderstorms, giving the images a dramatic sense.
The professional couple worked synergistically mainly to produce a video, with footage of Jan then edited by Olga, which impressed the participants a lot, creating very representative storytelling of South Tyrol.

Tom Juenemann is a young German author with a strong vocation for landscape and nature.
He took part in the Photo Tour 2019 which ran in the western part of South Tyrol, between the sides of the Vinschgau Valley: Val Senales, Glorenza, Solda and Passo Stelvio.
He has constantly developed his style and combines the characteristic dense tones of northern European compositions with original landscape situations.
In particular the filming of forests and their inhabitants, with suggestive images of old trains running on snow-covered tracks.
In 2019 his narration of South Tyrol was considered complete and original, with a strong reference to the relationship between man and nature.

Alan is a Slovak photographer with a long international history. Today based in Prague, he recounts one of the most fascinating cities in Central Europe.
Alan, aka Alanisko, participated in the photo tour of the Dolomites in 2020.
It was the first winter event, mostly at high altitude.
The clear sky and pure February air would never have made you think that a health crisis would soon break out. The pandemic would have completely annihilated travel and the very freedom of the people.
In Alan’s photograph we can recognize two traits.
On the one hand, his admiration for nature and its atavistic architecture, and on the other, his deep curiosity for the people who inhabit these Alpine lands.
In his way of photographing one recognizes the true traveller, an explorer who uses the camera as a research tool.

This monograph is once again dedicated to an artist as cosmopolitan as she is profound and driven by research as her main motivation.
Londoner of Polish origin, Ellie embodies a whole world of sensations in her photographs.
She tells life through details, with special attention to stories. Ellie is a true storyteller, able to tell through images the places she meets, whether near or far from home.
A storyteller attracted by the stories around her, by people who have animated and created all that is beautiful in a place.
Ellie discovered the Dolomites during the winter of 2020, beautiful days of sun, snow, and photography. Soon the world would be shocked by the terrifying narration of the pandemic.
Let’s hold on to Ellie’s memories, the photographs that tell the story of life, and still inspire us to travel and hope.
#everythingwelove!
