Name: Loic Lagarde

City: Paris, France

Camera: Full frame DSLR (Canon EOS 5D Mark III) and many pro lens

Main photographic subjectI like to shoot impressive monuments with marvellous golden lights with unique perspective. A landscape can be considered a monument too!

StyleI’m known for city & architecture photography (because I live in Paris). My style has been refined through the time and my style is now easily recognizable with its “bright and colorful” aspect and also the use of the ultra wide angle to make unique perspective shots

Favourite destinationsI’ve been to more than 50 countries so far. It is too difficult for me to choose a specific destination. But I like to go back to place where I have always inspirations like Japan (I’ve been 6 times to Japan)

Influences: Landscapes and light.

Meet me at the INSTAMEET!

on Sunday 9th of July, from 8.30 to 13.30 at Kronplatz

When did you start with photography?

I start photography very steadily: first like everybody with my first amateur apn in 2003 when I tour around Australia as backpackers. Then I moved to more advanced photography in 2008 with my first DSLR and professional photography in 2012 when Airbnb hired me.

Where does this passion come from?

Passion for photography has grown steadily when I was traveling all around the world trying to capture every unforgettable experience I met on my way with a view to collect and share them.

What do you look for in photography?

The light of course.

What does photography mean to you?

Photography is a great way to capture the light of an evasive present time always running away from us.

What should photography communicate according to you?

Photography communicate everything you want to tell and lets the one who looks at it has its own interpretation.

Do you conceive photography as an instinctive or a more planned activity?

Photography has to be instinctive because you never know what you’re going to capture, especially with the light, which is unpredictable. However, to produce nice photo, you need to be prepared: find the right spot, at the right time of the day and with the right gears.

What inspires you the most when you travel?

Everything can be a source of inspiration: the light of course, the colours, but also the people, the smell…
