  1. Step 1 Via dello Sprone

On the right of the Fontana (fountain) dello Sprone, the namesake street will bring you to discover the many ateliers and studios of restorers, goldsmiths, artists... In this street it is not hard to find artisans and apprentice busy at work, and shoot them by simply walking in front of their ateliers.

  2. Step 2 Atelier Ugolini

The atelier has a tradition in the creation of handmade custom-tailored footwear and the principal tailor is considered a benchmark in the industry. Passing in front of the atelier you will be able to admire and shoot the several wooden mold hanging at the walls as well as the tools used in the studio and the original measurement sheets, while capturing the apprentices learning the job.

  3. Step 3 Via Sant'Agostino

Due to the buildings and structures along this road, the atmosphere is highly folkloric, and this working-class feeling is even higher due to the presence on the walls of many graffiti, past shows posters and old food shops.

  4. Step 4 Via del Leone

Picturesque and traditional, this calm street far from the touristic coming and going, is characterized by the presence of some picturesque artisans' ateliers.

  5. Step 5 Galleria Romanelli

In Borgo San Frediano you will find many small shops and ateliers. One of the most famous and esteemed is the sculpture studio and gallery for interior and garden decoration "Romanelli". After two centuries, the family still stands out for its traditional and dynastic employment.

  6. Step 6 Piazza de Nerli (and via di Camaldoli)

The irregular-shaped square, with its atmosphere and colors, will undoubtedly bring you back to past times. Enjoy a panino con lampredotto, a traditional Florentine peasant dish purchasable by historic food-shop, and take time to understand the beauty and peculiarity of this space. From here, stroll through the stands of the market and reach via di Camaldoli to capture some other examples of traditional buildings, spaces and moments.

Born in Pietrasanta (Tuscany) he lives between the Apuan Alps and the Thyrrenian Sea, in close contact with nature and wildlife.
